Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, Rex Roadie Fund

The Rex Roadie Fund was created in partnership with the Rex Foundation to help ill, disabled and economically challenged crew who are facing financial hardship*. 100% of the money donated into this fund will go toward helping roadies, tour managers, stage managers, and all production crew who work behind the scenes. Contributions to this Fund will help pay for such things as medical expenses, housing, food and vital living expense such as utilities, clothing, transportation, program services and counseling. You may not know their names, but their contributions to music are critical; your generosity towards helping them is both crucial and appreciated.

“The board and staff of the Rex Foundation and Sweet Relief take the contributions of the crews who make the wondrous shows we participate in very seriously. While they may not have the same recognition as the musicians they serve, the show would not happen without them. When the Rex Foundation was established, the Board chose to name it after legendary Grateful Dead crew member Rex Jackson. Rex was always willing to lead  the charge and epitomized everything a member of the Crew would be, loyal to a fault and willing to take on anything needed to make the show happen. Every crew member lives to meet that same standard.  We want to recognize these crew members by returning the same loyalty back to them.

We are thrilled to partner in this effort with Sweet Relief, an organization we have supported in the past, in creating the Rex Roadie Fund. Sweet Relief has established itself as an innovator in helping musicians and tour personnel and we share a commitment to helping members of this community as they confront the issues brought about by the COVID19 outbreak.

We appreciate your support! While it may take some time, we are counting the days to when the cases roll off the truck and the lights go down and we get to commune together in the cathedral of sound of the clubs, theaters, amphitheaters and arenas we call home.”
